Why did British people scoff at plastic bowls of peeled garlic?
After a supermarket show, a grotesque situation in the UK over local media was the sale of the garlic cloves that had been pre-washed in plastic containers. One of them described it as "totally ridiculous", as there was no need to use it.

The store was heavily attacked for the "ridiculous" packaging they described as a few weeks after the retailer vowed to reduce plastic use in its stores and urged supermarket campaigners to take more steps in their efforts to become more environmentally friendly.

Charlie Samuelson, a series of photos, wrote: "The shocking, disappointing and highly unnecessary uses of plastics." Another added: "The introduction of new products meaningless and other use of plastics while not being disclosed whether they are recyclable or not," and ridiculed a third : "It is wonderful to see the support of shops to reduce plastics, through the innovative idea of the new product, garlic pre-peeled, into a plastic container."

At the same time, after the campaign on Social Media, the retailer claimed that the plastic container was recyclable on a large scale and could be reused.
