Officially .. Moroccan Wydad turns to FIFA and the Sports Court after the final African crisis
The head of Morocco's Wydad Casablanca Club, Said Naseiri, has appealed to FIFA and the International Sports Court after CAF's decision to award Esperance the African Champions League for the second time in a row and fourth in its history.
The match was suspended in the 61st minute to ask the Wydad players to return to the video technique to explore the validity of Moroccan striker Walid Al-Karti's goal and to rule out the referee for the offense when the score was 1-0 for Esperance.
About an hour and a half after the break, Jamaican referee Bakari Gassama fired the final whistle as Wydad was withdrawn, following a decision by the African Football Confederation (CAF).
"The club will not accept what is happening in Rades stadium, and we will resort to the FIFA and the sports court to restore the rights of the club," the president told Wydad.
The president categorically denied that Al-Kaf told the clubs that the video technique was not operational, and also confirmed that Hamdi Al-Madab, the president of Esperance, had tried to provoke him after he reached the pitch.
