Some vaccines cause common side effects and are not natural, but some effects may require a doctor.

The flu vaccine may have common side effects, including aches, low-grade fever, redness, pain, stiffness, itching or swelling.

According to the Centers for Disease Control [CDC], the vaccine can also cause hoarseness, itching of the eyes, coughing, and itching.

The CDC revealed that the live vaccine may also cause headache, wheezing, runny nose, sore throat and chills.

Although cold-like symptoms may occur, CDC states that patients can not get flu from these vaccines because the viruses in the vaccine have either been killed or have no genetic material needed to replicate them.

The mild side effects start shortly after the infection and usually disappear within a day to two days, although some of the more serious symptoms disappear after three to seven days. Serious side effects are "very rare," according to CDC statistics.

Seasonal influenza vaccines reduce the chances of a person getting the flu by up to 60%. The vaccine is highly recommended for anyone who may have complications from influenza, including pregnant women, elderly people 65 and over, and those with chronic health conditions,
