Watsab's application urges subscribers to update it after reporting a spyware program

Facebook's Wattab application on Tuesday urged users to update the application by downloading the latest version after a report that users could be exposed to malicious software on their phones without their knowledge.

"Wassab encourages people to update the application by downloading the latest version and updating the mobile phone operating system itself to protect them from targeted exploits designed to penetrate information stored on mobile devices," a spokesman said.

"We are constantly working with our industry partners to provide the latest security enhancements to protect our users."
