Two sources: Russia's oil production is down in early May to 11.16 million barrels

Russia's oil output fell to 11.16 million barrels per day [bpd] from May 1 to May 12 from an average of 11.23 million bpd in April, two oil industry sources told Reuters on Monday.

The oil, pumped by Transneft, which monopolizes Russia's crude pipelines, fell about 6 percent from May 1 to October 12 to 8.8 million bpd from the April average, the sources said.

The two sources did not say why the production or oil pumped by Transvent had declined, and the Energy Department has yet to respond to a Reuters request for comment.
