The founder of optics and astronomy, who discussed the formation of the world
Muslim scholars have contributions throughout history that confirm that they have been the pioneers of science for hundreds of years and their achievements. In the month of Ramadan, we present a whole series of them, and a new episode every day about a Muslim world with a great heritage such as Ibn al-Haytham who has done much for mathematics, optics, physics, astronomy, engineering, ophthalmology, Scientific and visual perception.
According to the site "Britannica", Ibn al-Haytham founder of optics, who was born in 965 in Basra Iraq, is also a mathematician and astronomer.

Ibn al-Haytham
The most important of his works is the landscape book on optics, which contains the correct model of vision, as the negative reception of the eyes to the reflected light of the objects, not the active emission of light from the eyes, as well as the first to explain the eye complete anatomy and explained the functions of its parts as well as psychological effects on the process Vision.
It combines experimentation with mathematical thinking, and contains work on complete formulation of the laws of reflection and detailed investigation of refraction, and the light is correctly interpreted by moving the light slower in the center of the intensity.
Ibn al-Haitham investigated certain cases of Euclid's theories and based his analysis on parallels on equal lines. Ibn al-Haitham's writings are very numerous, and he appears to have written about 92 works, of which 55 were written.
As well as optics, Ibn al-Haytham's most famous work is his book on the formation of the world, which presents a non-technical description of how to understand mathematical models abstracted from Ptolemy's book according to his natural philosophy of time. While this early work implicitly accepts Ptolemy's models , But the subsequent work "Doubts about Ptolemy", criticizes it and provides a different astronomical view.
