The Export Board of Medicine targets $ 680 million in exports by the end of 2019

Dr. Majid George, Chairman of the Export Board of Medicine, revealed that the Board of Higher Education's target of exports of pharmaceutical companies, cosmetics and medical supplies by 30% by the end of 2019 to record 680 million dollars compared to 525 million dollars by the end of 2018.
Dr. Georges told "Seventh Day" that the removal of obstacles to the registration of medicines in African markets, in addition to participating in exhibitions and bringing in buyers' missions supports the increase of exports of medicines and medical supplies.
George explained that the total volume of exports of the sector "pharmaceuticals – cosmetics – medical supplies" has escalated recently and recorded a rise during the year 2018 compared to previous years, through a number of companies in the sector
The Chairman of the Export Council of Medical Industries pointed out that his council prepared a proposal for the export incentive program aimed at achieving a sustainable increase in the volume of exports, as well as supporting small and medium enterprises to expand export operations to different countries in the world, especially African countries. A new generation of exporters in a way that expands the base of beneficiaries of the Export Development Fund and stimulates the export culture of producers in general, by granting the medium and small source reductions on the costs of quality certificates and registration of scientific files and trademarks.
He stressed that the proposal on the export incentive program seeks to increase the local value added value and encourage international companies to use their factories in Egypt as a regional manufacturing and distribution center, as well as the development of Upper Egypt and the border areas and expansion of new projects in the field of medical industries.
