Player of Algeria: Greens are not candidates for the African Cup of Nations
Algerian international defender Yousef Attal, a professional at Nice, believes his country is not a candidate for the 2019 African Cup of Nations in Egypt.
"We know very well that the Algerian public is following with great interest the finals of the African Nations Cup, so we will go to Egypt to honor the Algerian football and go as far as possible," Youssef Attal said in remarks published by the Algerian daily Al Shorouq.
He added: "We will play the continental championship without pressure, because we are not candidates for the African Nations Cup."
Youssef Attal, 23, has participated in seven international interviews with the national team since 2017, scoring a goal.
Algeria are in Group C, which includes Senegal, Kenya and Tanzania. The Greens will start their campaign in Cannes on June 23 against Kenya.
