The EU is forcing Chelsea to sell Hazard
LONDON [Reuters] – Chelsea will be forced to sell their Belgian star Eden Hazard this summer, despite reports of a denial of contracts that would deny him an alternative player this summer.
The European Football Federation [UEFA] has imposed a penalty on Chelsea for refusing to enter into any new contracts during two transfer periods due to irregularities in hiring new players. The club will start hiring new players starting in the summer of 2020.
The Daily Mail newspaper said Chelsea was threatened with new penalties from UEFA for other offenses due to clean financial play and the club would be required to sell one of its stars to balance its profits and spending before the start of the new season.
The English newspaper pointed out that Hazard will be the scapegoat to save Chelsea from penalties, especially as Zinedine Zidane, the technical director of Real Madrid put it as the first goals to strengthen the Royal in the new season, as the player near completion and not renewed so far, and thus lose the Blues tens of millions if he left Free of charge.
Hazard's move to Real Madrid will not be less than 87 million pounds after joining the Blues in 2012 from French Lille for 32 million.
