"Solidarity of Parliament" agrees on the independence of the National Council of Population and its subordination to the presidency

The Social Solidarity Committee of the House of Representatives stressed the need for the National Council for Population and Development to be independent of the Ministry of Health and to follow directly the President of the Republic and to provide for this in the new legislation that will regulate the affairs of the Council.
This came during a meeting of the Social Solidarity Committee in the House of Representatives Thursday, under the chairmanship of MP Dr. Abdel Hady Kasabi, to discuss a bill on the enactment of a law to organize the National Council for Population and Development, and another project on the re-establishment of the National Council for Population, provided by MPs Mohamed Amari and Rasha Ramadan.
Dr. Abdul Hadi Al-Qasabi, chairman of the Social Solidarity and Family Committee in the House of Representatives, said that the National Council for Population does not fulfill its mission to address the problem of population increase in full, prompting some deputies to address this issue by submitting a draft law to regulate this council.

Al-Qasabi stressed the importance of stipulating the independence of the National Council for Population. He said: "The independence of the Council must be provided and the President of the Republic must be directly followed. As stated in Article 1 of the draft law, the independence of the Council and its subordination to the President of the Republic can fulfill his duties and responsibilities. This Council is fully independent. "
He stressed the need to take into account the plans put in place by the Council and take into account, especially as it is advisory council and plans are not binding on the state.
For her part, Rep. Rasha Ramadan, Undersecretary of the Social Solidarity Committee, stressed the importance of preparing new legislation that regulates the National Council for Population in the same manner as the other National Councils such as "National Women's, National for Persons with Disabilities, National Human Rights and National Council for Women".
