Reader Hanim Dawood writes: Zakat on the rich and the poor

Citizen journalism

Zakat in Islam is obligatory on Muslims, and the corner of its fixed pillars, he said peace be upon him, "Islam built on five: the testimony that there is no god but Allah and that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah, and establish prayer, and give Zakat, Hajj, (Peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said, "There is no money from charity." That is, Zakah increases money and does not diminish it.

Do not forget the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in the punishment of those who do not pay zakaah, "No one can pay the zakaah on his money, except for him on the Day of Resurrection, a courageous man who ducks until his neck surrounds him." But it is evil for them, they will block what they missed on the Day of Resurrection} "

It is essential that the individual should pay zakaah until his Islam is completed, as the Almighty says (if they repent and establish prayer and pay zakaah, then your brothers in the religion) say: "Establish prayer and pay zakaah and bow down with those who bow down." Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): " Repentance

The Messenger of Allah (and charity and the extinguishment of sin) (Narrated by Ibn Hibban in his Saheeh)

And Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): "O you who believe, that many of the inks and monks are to eat the people's wealth with falsehood, and they will turn away from the path of Allah and those who seize gold and silver and spend not for the sake of Allah.)

(As the Almighty says) "Establish the prayer and pay the zakaah and what you have offered yourselves, the best you will find with Allah.)

In Surat Al-Haakah Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): I did not manage his calculations. Oh, she was the judge. What the richest Mali. I lost my bowl. Take him and leave him. Then hell pray him. Then in a chain of seventy cubits, they cast him down. He did not believe in God Almighty. And do not urge the food of the poor. "(Al-Hakka: 25-34).
