Learn about the prices of new electricity slides
Minister of Electricity and Renewable Energy Dr. Mohamed Shaker announced the government's plan to restructure electricity prices in accordance with the plan to gradually raise subsidies until July 2021. He said that after implementing the new prices, the deficit in the electricity sector will decrease from LE 33 billion to LE 500 billion to LE 16 billion.
The following are the prices of electricity segments of the new fiscal year 2020/2019, which will be applied starting from next July, as follows:
1- The first tranche from 0 to 50 kW (30 piasters instead of 22 piasters)
2 nd slide from 51 to 100 kW (40 piasters instead of 30 piasters)
3- The third tranche from zero to 200 kW (50 piasters instead of 36 piasters)
4- The fourth tranche from 201 to 350 kW (82 pence instead of 70 piasters)
5- The fifth tranche from 351 to 650 kW (100 piasters instead of 90 piasters)
6. The sixth tranche of 651 to 1,000 kW (140 piasters instead of 135 piasters)
7 – the seventh segment of more than 1000 kW do not receive support (145 piasters).
It is worth mentioning that the plan to rationalize electricity subsidies began in 2015, and was planned to end in July 2019 free prices of support fully, and accounting the citizen at the price of the cost of kilowatts, and with the rise of the dollar in 2017, President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi extended the plan of lifting Support to 8 years instead of 5, to ease the burden on citizens, the Ministry has already developed a new plan extending the process of raising support until July 2021.
