The North Sinai Health Directorate announced that it has taken all necessary precautions to cope with the expected heat wave and heat stress.
Dr. Tariq Shawka, director of the Health Directorate in North Sinai, said that the hospitals and health units at the governorate level have been fully prepared to cope with the expected heat wave and climate change, stressing the readiness of reception and emergency for heat stress, sunstrokes and continuous upgrading of the health sector at the governorate level..
Dr. Hissam Hamdy, Director of the Department of Education and Health Information in North Sinai, added that prevention is better than treating the need to follow the preventive instructions to deal with heat stress cases in conjunction with the expected heat wave .
Fathi Osman, director of the Education and Information Office, said an awareness campaign had been launched for people to prevent climate change .
He pointed out that this campaign is in the form of guidelines that include the warning of the danger of walking in the sun for long distances, and the need to use the sun umbrella or protective caps to prevent direct exposure to the sun, and drinking more water or liquids, and wear loose clothing wide light colors, especially cotton. When feeling tired, rest in a well-ventilated and shadowy place, and take care of people suffering from chronic diseases, especially heart disease or high blood pressure, and diabetics not to be exposed to severe sun, because they are more vulnerable to sunstroke.
