German company conducts the first flight of the taxi flying .. Video
German automaker Lilium announced the launch of its first five-seater full-body taxi flight after the company carried out an unmanned pilot flight to the VTOL system earlier this month.
The Flying Taxi experience is the latest in a series of successful tests from various companies in the aircraft industry, confirming that we are about to see cars flying in the sky soon.
According to the technology company, the taxi will allow users to travel from London to Manchester in less than an hour.
The current Lilium comes with a relatively simple design without tail, fans or gears, as well as passenger-friendly materials.
The company's team hopes to own a fleet of flying taxis by 2025, providing a passenger service, where passengers will book a taxi from the electronic platform for transportation on short trips.
"We have been working on this test for the last 20 months, especially the take-off and landing tests, and then we tested the pilot flight program to get a certificate," said Rimu Gerber, senior officer of Lilium.
Rimo did not specify any details about the plane's weight and weight but insisted in the end it would be able to carry five passengers and a pilot.
