André Ayou, captain of the Ghana team in the African Nations 2019 officially
The Ghanaian Football Federation (GFF) announced on Friday that Andre Ayo was appointed Ghana captain at the African Nations Cup to be held in Egypt from June 21 to July 19.
The official website of the Ghana Football Association said the game officials had agreed to Ghana coach Kwassi Abihah's decision to award Andrei Ayo as a substitute for Asamoah Gyan, while Kwadu Asamwa was appointed second captain of the Black Stars.
Asamoah Gyan announced his retirement from international football on Monday to protest against the coach's intention to deny him a "badge" before the Ghanaian president intervenes and succeeds in persuading the player to abandon his decision to retire.
