4 thousand post offices nationwide are preparing to provide new services to citizens
Dr. Essam Al-Saghir, Chairman of the National Post Authority, said that the Authority will provide new government services through its outlets during the coming period. The plan is to be completed and announced soon.
This came in a statement on the sidelines of a meeting between the head of the post office of the Ministry of Planning team responsible for the Egyptian Award for Government Excellence, headed by Mohammed Samy, the ministry's advisor and supervisor of the award, who visited the Authority to introduce the government excellence award and its details.
The meeting reviewed the achievements of the Postal Authority in the provision of government services to citizens, and the extent of conformity with the vision of Egypt 2030. The "small" that the body is one of the most providers of government services electronically, through postal services centers developed at the level of the provinces. "We have completed the automation of postal and logistics services and the cancellation of all paper operations. The Authority has also introduced new services in coordination with some ministries and government bodies. The Egyptian Post is a platform for providing all government services to citizens."
He added that the Authority provides many financial services, including the disbursement of pensions, in addition to community and government services, the development of new technological systems, and the provision of billing services such as gas and university expenses, through 4,000 post offices owned by the Commission in the Republic.
It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Award for Excellence in Government comprises two categories: the first is the Institutional Excellence Award, which includes the distinguished governmental institution award, and includes the local units from governorates, centers, cities, neighborhoods and villages, as well as educational institutions including government colleges. The company is distinguished in providing smart services. And the second individual excellence awards and includes distinguished leaders, from heads of sectors and heads of central departments and general managers and directors of management, and the innovation and creativity award for any idea of reform or applied research.
He pointed out that the Ministry of Planning has trained 584 employees at post offices in the governorates of the republic on the criteria of government excellence to improve the level of government services. The offices of the West Delta sector in Beheira, Suez, South Sinai, Assiut, Kafr El-Sheikh, Menia, Aswan, Sohag, Beni Suef, Greater Cairo offices, Upper Egypt and Central Egypt offices, as well as the offices of the North Delta sector.
He pointed out that the award aims to achieve better rates for the satisfaction of citizens, spreading the culture of quality and excellence at the level of the administrative apparatus of the state, as well as seeking to develop government services. He stressed that among the main criteria of the award is the achievement of the vision of Egypt 2030, Innovation management, human capital investment, risk management, and operational environment management.
