It is noteworthy that on June 14 each year the National Population Council celebrates the national day against the circumcision of girls, after a long way of fighting this crime, which represents the worst degree of violence against women. And the anniversary of the death of the girl "Badr" as a result of the circumcision of girls on 14 June 2007 became a painful memory, to become a national day against this heinous crime, at the initiative of the National Program against Female Genital Mutilation, adopted by the National Council for Population, with the participation of all governmental and private bodies, To implement the National Strategy against Female Genital Mutilation, in collaboration with the United Nations Development Program, the European Union and other relevant United Nations organizations.
"Badr" and other victims of the crimes of female circumcision, paid their lives for a habit lasting thousands of years, violate and distort the bodies of Egyptian girls, and devote a lower status to women in society, through a system of false beliefs, that circumcision of girls is the means to control the wishes of women, Her chastity and honor. For more than 10 years, the Egyptian government has developed a national anti-FGM program.
