Wydad seeks to equalize Raja's achievement in the African Champions League
Morocco's Wydad Casablanca are seeking to equalize their traditional rivals' hopes of winning the African Champions League title for the third time in their history.
Wydad Casablanca will meet Tunisia's Esperance on Friday in Rabat in the final leg of the African Champions League, while the return match will be held a week later at the Rades stadium.
Wydad Casablanca has been crowned champion of the African Champions League in 1992 and 2017, and wants to tie Raja Casablanca, who won the title on three occasions in 1989, 1997 and 1999.
Wydad beat Esperance in the 2019 African Champions League final after beating Sun Dunes 2-1 in aggregate.
This will be the third Arab final in a row for the African Champions League, after meeting Wydad Casablanca Morocco with Al Ahly Egyptian in the final version 2017, and the Tunisian Regal with Al Ahli of Egypt also in the final version 2018.
