In celebration of the 200th anniversary of her birth, Queen Victoria was photographed in 1854 by a photographer named Anton Claudette who was favored by the ruling couple.

Queen Victoria is known to all by a picture she always shows in a state of mourning with her stiff face, black robe and white headdress, after the death of her husband Albert, according to the Guardian website.

So very few images were taken of the vibrant young woman when she ascended the throne in 1837, when she was 18 years old, and photography was almost invented.

On the occasion of the 200th anniversary of its birth, the London Museum revealed rare and exclusive pictures that were never seen before by Queen Victoria.

Francis Marshall, the museum's chief coordinator, said the pictures showed a younger and more delicate Queen Victoria.

These images are one of the most important publications in the museum collection, Francis Marshall said, not only because they are two of Victoria's oldest portraits, but also reflect their fascination with photography.
