The head of the Suez Canal Authority and the Economic Zone of the Canal, Mihab Mamesh, said that the Authority intends to establish wind farms for the production of renewable energy, such as solar and electric energy, within the framework of the state plan to generate 20% of the total electricity generated by Through renewable energies, by 2020.
"The economic zone of the Suez Canal is an ideal area for the implementation of such projects," according to the new and renewable energy authority. The region's ideal is due to the availability of the vast area where the sun's energy is available. Wind and bioenergy.

"Although renewable energy is a new trend in Egypt, there is a strong trend in the government to increase production and dependence instead of traditional sources of energy, which makes renewable energy an opportunity to attract more investment in this area," Mamesh said.
The head of the Suez Canal Authority and the economic zone of the channel pointed out that it is intended to produce 7,200 MW of wind farms to be established in the region, especially that the government aims to produce 12% of the total electricity generated by wind, and complete the rest of the plan of 20% of other renewable sources of energy .
