The Official Gazette published the decision to adopt the general strategic plan of the city of Sunrise and its expansions with a total area of 52 thousand and 991 acres, according to land use and construction requirements.

Engineer Radwan Abdul Rashid, Head of the Development Authority of the new city of Qena, said that the total area of West Qena city is 8971.11 acres. The area of the first phase is 1400 feddans, and the general strategic plan for the city has been adopted.
He added that the site of the city of West Qena is characterized by its occurrence on a network of regional roads linking it with different parts of the Egyptian globe. The city is located on the western road Qena – Cairo, and its location is near the city of Qena, about 8 km, and the city is expected to accommodate 550 thousand people.
He added that the infrastructure works were allocated to the first phase of an area of 1400 feddans in the West Qena city, including the water carrier line, as well as the first phase of the installation and purification plant for a contracting company worth 1.1 billion pounds. And the coordination with the Egyptian Company for the transfer of electricity to provide a permanent source of electricity for the city capacity of 40 MVA, and coordination with the Egyptian Company for Electrical Power Systems Engineering to prepare documents in preparation for the launch, and is coordinating with the water and sanitation company in Qena to implement the water line 8 In inches, to provide an urgent source of water for the city.
