The government appeals to citizens not to dump waste in the Nile River

Egyptian reports

The government appealed to the citizens not to dump the waste or garbage in the waterways, especially the Nile River, and to preserve it as it is of great importance, stressing the need to assume part of their responsibilities in preserving the Nile River and irrigation and drainage facilities and networks. Nile water is driven by a sense of ownership of this vital public facility to ensure quality of life and drive development in Egypt.

The government stressed that measures are being taken to preserve the Nile River, its branches and all waterways clean and free from all forms of pollution, pollution and non-complacency with all violators and offenders to take legal action against them to protect this national wealth from pollution and waste.

The government pointed out that the new water resources and irrigation law is a deterrent to the violators because of the heavy penalties imposed to the extent of imprisonment and fines in cases of encroachment on the Nile River and watercourses and causing waste and waste of water.

It is worth mentioning that the National Campaign for the Rescue of the Nile River was launched on January 5, 2015. The Nile River Protection Act was signed by the President of the Republic and the symbols of the Egyptian people, headed by Sheikh Al-Azhar, Pope of the Church and a large number of the Egyptian public and civil society organizations.
