Wildlife experts confirmed the emergence of the first bear built in Portugal more than a century ago, following reports of an animal in the northeast of the country.
The bear, who belongs to the region of the Cantabrian mountains in northern Spain, was roaming the border between Spain and Portugal.
The Portuguese Institute for Conservation of Nature and Forests confirmed the emergence of this species of brown bears in Portugal again, having been extinct from Portugal since the 19th century.
