The Egyptian Government Excellence Award team continues to define its identity in Cairo and Suez
The team headed the Egyptian Prize for Excellence in Government, headed by Mohamed Samy, supervisor of the award during his tour to introduce the award to the governorates of Cairo and Suez.
Mohamed Samy, the supervisor of the award, met with the Governor of Suez, Abdelmagid Saqr, and Dr. Abdullah Ramadan, Deputy Governor, to witness a presentation on the strategic plan of the governorate and its compatibility with the vision of Egypt 2030.
For his part, Samy pointed to the progress of all 6 local units in the province to run for the Foundation Award distinguished, as well as the progress of all five technology centers in the province, along with the progress of 5 neighborhoods and a number of leaders who submitted the leadership award.
During the visit of the award team to Suez Governorate, Mohamed Samy met Dr. Abdel Azim El Sharkawy, President of Suez University, who in turn thanked them for their efforts.
Sami pointed out during the meeting that the evaluation process carried out for the candidates of the award is carried out by a committee of arbitrators from the countries of Egypt and the UAE in a transparent manner. The number of colleges applying for the distinguished institution award by the University of Suez reached 12, , Stressing that the deadline for receipt of the nomination file is May 12.
The team went on a tour to Cairo governorate to meet with General Engineer Mohamed Ali Hanafy, secretary general of Cairo governorate at the governorate headquarters to follow up the position of the governorate and its affiliated units from running for the Egyptian Award for Government Excellence. Samy pointed out the importance of training workshops to familiarize employees with the importance of applying for the award. The process of nomination and qualification to win them, pointing out that the training was conducted for about 117 trainees in addition to the intensive workshops that were held for about 55 additional trainees at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the province.
Sami also talked about the importance of encouraging innovation as one of the main points in the evaluation process for the candidates. He also highlighted a number of successful models of government institutions to serve as an example. The supervisor of the Government Excellence Award said that the governorate has progressed well to run for the prize in its categories, He pointed out that all the local units of the province have been awarded the distinguished institution's award which has reached 39 local units, as well as 26 technology centers for the distinguished unit award. In addition to the progress of the leadership award from the head of central administration, the general manager, The meeting witnessed a review of the latest developments in the governorate as part of the strategy of sustainable development vision of Egypt 2030.
It is noteworthy that the government excellence award team had started his tour to introduce the unfairness in the governorates of Beni Suef and Gharbia, and then to the governorates of Alexandria and Qalyubia and then to Cairo to visit the University of Ain Shams. The team will continue his tour to Menoufia and then to Cairo University in Giza.
It is worth mentioning that the Egyptian Award for Excellence in Government comprises two categories: the Institutional Excellence Awards, which include the distinguished governmental institution award, which includes the local units from governorates, centers, cities, neighborhoods, villages as well as educational institutions including government colleges. The Excellence Award for Smart Services and other categories are the individual excellence awards, which include the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Head of Sector, Head of Central Administration, General Manager, Director of Administration, as well as the Innovation and Creativity Award for any reform or applied research idea.
