Sultan Qaboos Award announces the details of the eighth session in Egypt in three areas
The Supreme Council of Culture hosted the press conference to announce the details of the eighth session of the Sultan Qaboos Prize for Culture, Arts and Literature for 2019. The prize will be awarded this year to Arab Creators in the fields of "Sociology, Arab Culture and Trip Literature". Council, Ambassador Ali bin Ahmed Al-Issaeyse, Ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Arab League, and the elite of Egyptian and Arab intellectuals and innovators.
Dr. Hisham Azmi, Secretary General of the Supreme Council for Culture, said that the announcement of the details of the eighth session of the Sultan Qaboos Award from Egypt is evidence of the strength and strength of the Omani-Omani relations and the completion of the historic visit by President Abdul Fattah Al-Sisi.
Azmi added that creative awards such as the Sultan Qaboos Award represent a great stimulus for Arab creators, an opportunity to showcase new talents and highlight outstanding works of art and literature.
Dr. Nasser bin Hamad Al Taie, Board Member of the Prize Board, Rashid bin Humaid Al Deghishi, Director of the Award Office, announced that the Sultan Qaboos Award is a periodic one, awarded in a year to Omani innovators and a course for Arab Creators. Each year in one of the three areas of the prize "Culture, Arts and Arts", to announce the areas of each session in the ceremony of awarding the awards of the previous session, where the ceremony is held annually in December each year, noting that the current session dedicated to the Arab innovator .
He added that the criteria for arbitration and evaluation and even the value of prizes vary from cycle to session, as the course dedicated to Omani innovators is awarded the award for creative work nominated by the creator and get the winner of the Order of Merit and the amount of 50 thousand Omani riyals, while in the course dedicated to the Arab creators, The winner of the Sultan Qaboos Medal in Culture, Arts and Arts and the amount of RO 100,000.
One of the general conditions for the Sultan Qaboos Award for Arab Creators:
1. The prize is allocated to Arabs.
2. The candidate shall be alive unless he has died after submitting his candidacy.
3. The candidate shall have publications, works or research that have been published, presented or implemented.
4. The work of the candidate shall be characterized by originality and proficiency, and includes adding quality that contributes to the enrichment of culture, thought and art.
5. The Award shall consider the work of the candidate whether it is independent work or joint work.
6. The work should be in Arabic, and the other work done by the candidate in languages other than Arabic may be considered as supporting materials for his candidacy.
7. The candidate has not won an international award in the last four years.
8. Candidates must submit only one field and one specific branch of the prize in one session.
9. The winners of the Sultan Qaboos Award for Culture, Arts and Literature from Omanis can not be nominated for the Sultan Qaboos Prize for Culture, Arts and Letters.
10. The application for candidacy shall be accompanied by a CV, five personal photographs and five copies (written, audio-visual) as required by the type of work performed by the candidate in the branch in which the prize was submitted.
11. Copies and documents submitted shall be the property of the Center and shall not be returned to the Contestants.
