"Solidarity Parliament" approves the draft law of the National Council for Population and Development

The Social Solidarity and Family Committee of the House of Representatives approved on Thursday a bill to organize the National Council for Population, submitted by some deputies, which provides for the independence of the Council and its subordination to the Presidency of the Republic.

The committee amended some articles in the draft law and agreed to amend the second article of the issuance articles which provided for the transfer of workers in the National Population Council to the new council in the same functional and financial positions, to stipulate the transfer of some employees by a decision of the Prime Minister.

The Committee also amended the text of Article III, which stipulates the requirements of membership of the Council, so that the President of the Council or any member thereof shall not be members of the Government, the House of Representatives, the Senate or the Governor.
