President of Cairo University: We are considering adding "critical thinking" to the total during the coming year
Dr. Mohamed Othman El Khasht, President of Cairo University, said that most of the faculties of the university have completed the exam of the critical thinking course in the end of the academic year. Although the course was applied for the first time in Egypt, , Pointing out that after the implementation of the exam this year, the university will study during the coming period conversion of the course from the material of success and repetition only to the material added to the cumulative total of students next year.
Al-Khasht added that the course was taught to the students of the first academic teams in all the faculties of the university during the second semester. As a university requirement, the student will not graduate if he does not succeed and will continue to succeed in it.. Cairo University was able to dedicate a new experience in the educational process aimed at the graduation of a student capable of creativity, innovation, understanding and analysis, and not a system based on conservation. He explained that the university succeeded by applying the critical thinking exam in developing students' abilities to cope with various problems and phenomena through dealing with them in a scientific way without having a single typical answer. He pointed out that the Critical Thinking Decision is a fundamental part of the University's strategic plan to change the ways of thinking of its students at all scientific and research levels in solving problems.
