Paul Auster's wife wins the Asturias Princess of Literature Award

American writer Siri Hastvedt won the 2019 Princess of Asturias Award for Literature, one of the highest awards ever awarded in Spain, first awarded in 1981 and named Prince of Asturias before the name was changed in 2014 to Princess Asturias.

He is an American writer who was born in February 1955. She has about seven novels and many articles, especially in the world of art, which she has collected in two books and her famous novel "Appeal to Eros" in 2003, with a PhD in English.

She started writing at the age of 13 after a family trip to Reykjavik, where she read many classical literary works, and was particularly impressed by Charles Dickens' novel David Copperfield. She decided that she wanted to make literature her profession after completing her studies, Olaf holds a bachelor's degree in history in 1977 and moved to New York City to pursue graduate studies at Columbia University. Her first work was a poem in the Paris Review.

Sirstevedt married the famous American writer Paul Auster in 1981, and they have a daughter named Sophie Auster. Her husband Paul Auster won the same award in 2006.

The Princess of Asturias Award ceremony will be held in October 2019. Siri Hastvedt was not the only winner this year, with the Prado Museum, Petr Brak and the Khan Academy.
