Pakistan reached an agreement with the International Monetary Fund [IMF] on a $ 6 billion economic bailout program for Pakistan.
"This agreement is the result of several months of discussions between the Pakistani government and the International Monetary Fund [IMF]," the Pakistani prime minister's adviser for financial and economic affairs, Abdul Hafiz Sheikh, told reporters.
He said Pakistan would get a $ 6 billion IMF loan program over the next three years, adding that Pakistan would receive the money after it was approved by the IMF's board of governors in Washington.
