MP Yosri Al-Assiouti: Do the provinces buy newspapers and magazines at LE100 per day?
The Local Administration Committee criticized the House of Representatives, the allocation of large amounts in the budgets of the provinces to buy newspapers and magazines, during the meeting today to discuss the budgets of a number of provinces, including (Damietta, Port Said, Ismailia).
During a discussion on the budget of Damietta governorate, MP Yusra al-Assiouti, a member of the local administration committee, questioned the reason for the allocation of 35,000 pounds for the item (purchase of newspapers and magazines), saying: "Do you buy newspapers and magazines for 100 pounds a day ?!"
The committee's chairman, Ahmad Al-Sejaini, referred to this matter repeatedly in the budgets of some of the governorates and bodies discussed by the committee, pointing out that the budget of one of the bodies allocated 70 thousand pounds for the purchase of newspapers and magazines.
MP Yusra Al Assiouti continued his speech, criticizing the existence of a disparity between revenues and expenditures in the budgets of the governorates.
