Mauritanian team announces African Nations Cup list 2019
The Mauritanian Football Federation announced in the presence of the President of the Union Ahmed Ould Yahya the names of 23 players invited to the national team to participate in the African Nations Cup next month in Cairo.
Mauritanian coach Cortin Martinez was quoted by newspapers in Nouakchott Tuesday as saying that the squad consisted of 17 professional players and six players from the Mauritanian Premier League.
Three goalkeepers were Ibrahim Suleiman Jalu, goalkeeper of the Mauritanian Premier League, Nouadhibou, goalkeeper Namuri, goalkeeper of the north-eastern side of the Mauritanian club and police guard Boubacar Adyoub. The team included eight defenders, seven of them playing in international clubs and one defender playing for King Nouakchott. The coach called Abdoulaye Auxerre of France, Haroun Se of Agronoble of France, Didier Adeira of French club Sedan, Abdelkader Atiam of French club Orlane and Bakari Indaye of Morocco's new defense club and of the club's club. Alkaragon Spanish and Sally walked from the club Srfeyt Geneva, Switzerland.
The coach also called seven midfielders, including six professionals, as well as Abdullah Ghi from Nouadhibou Club. They are Hassan Joub of Hager Saudi Club, Ibrahim Coulibaly of Agrinoble of France, Khasa Kamra of Santi of Greece, Mohammed Dahlai of Tajant of Algeria and Hassan Al Eid of Valladolid Spaniard Andalu Gailidi of the Turkish Club of Azores.
The coach called five strikers Adam B from the Turkish club Gersen Esper, Ismael Jacqueti from Tunisia's Tetouan, Moulay Ahmed Bassam from Tunisia's Gabes and Hami Ould Tunji from Nouadhibou.
The standings included Abdullah Sudani of Algeria's Taganant Club, Amadou Anyas of the Lebanese club Salaam Zaatara, Hassan Ali of France's Hottest Star, Hamza Jafar of French club Mendoffi, Osman Samba of French club Dranse, Abdullah Mahmoud of Alaves of Spain and Adres Atiam of the Harmony club.
The Mauritanian football federation has unveiled a new shirt for the Mauritanian team produced by a Moroccan sporting goods company, with which the Mauritanian Football Federation signed a two-year contract.
This is the first time that the Mauritanian team will participate in the African finals, and will play in Group V, which includes Tunisia, Mali and Angola.
