Maradona attacks film documentary about his career because of the description of "fraudster"
Argentine legend Diego Maradona has called for a boycott of his new documentary film due to be released next month due to a word on the film's promotional poster.
The two-hour documentary about the controversial Argentine star "Diego Maradona the rebel, the hero, the swindler and the Lord" was mentioned in the poster for the two-hour documentary, but the former World Cup winner in 1986 expressed his anger at the word "crook."
"I played football and got the money from running behind the ball, and I was not the reason to cheat anyone," Maradona said in a television interview.
"If they wrote it to attract people to come and watch the film, I think they went the wrong way. I do not like this title. If I do not like the title, I will not go to the movie, do not go and see it."
Asif Kabadia, the director of the documentary film of the Argentine legend, said earlier that Maradona had not seen the film and admitted he would be interested in learning his reaction.
"There are a lot of pictures he has not seen about himself, his family and his children, so I think it will be very emotional for him," Capadia told Reuters in previous comments.
Maradona, who works as a coach in Mexico, missed the premiere of the film at the Cannes Film Festival on Sunday. The film is due to be released on June 14.
