Mamdouh Abdel Gawad, a lawyer and legal expert, says that abortion is punishable by between 24 hours and 3 years, in case the pregnant woman aborted herself or with the help of others in any way, and punished those who assisted her with the same punishment.

Abul Gawad adds that abortion is a crime in case it is accompanied by violence or if the offender is a doctor, in which case the sentence reaches the aggravated imprisonment between 3 and 15 years.
