In a humanitarian gesture during the month of Ramadan, a national ID card and passport was issued to an elderly woman in response to her request, within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's policy of caring for and responding to citizens' requests, particularly with regard to the humanitarian aspects, the elderly and people with special needs.
Interior Minister Major General Mahmoud Tawfiq quickly responded to a newspaper report on the applicant for citizenship, Buthaina Abdul Latif, resident in Cairo governorate, to help her to extract her national ID card and passport because she was unable to move because of her injury in an accident.
In accordance with the directive of the Minister of the Interior, the Media and Relations Sector in coordination with the Civil Status Sector, the General Directorate of Passports, Immigration and Nationality, was contacted with citizenship and two women were sent to their place of residence. The national ID card and passport were issued and handed over to her,
In turn, she expressed her sincere thanks and appreciation to the Ministry of Interior and the security services for their efforts in facilitating them and responding to their pleas.
This comes within the framework of the Ministry of Interior's keenness to observe the principles of human rights and take all measures that will facilitate the citizens, especially the elderly, as one of the constants of the security strategy and its importance in supporting bridges of trust between citizens and the police.
