Holding of Electricity holds its General Assembly to approve the budget

The EGM held an extraordinary general meeting to review the efforts exerted by the electricity sector to support the transport network on various efforts to improve network efficiency and reduce losses to be able to absorb the added capacity of generation and ensure sustainability. And attention to raise the efficiency of human cadres and training on the latest global technologies and modern experiences in the fields of electricity and energy in addition to the transfer of these experiences regionally and Africa.

Eng. Jaber Desouki, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company, reviewed a report in which he stressed that the electricity sector aims to achieve a number of indicators in the budget of the fiscal year 2019/2020 represented in:

· Adding capacity to the national network of about 1950 MW, with the nominal capacities rising to 60067 MW, by 2.6% over the expected fiscal year 2018/2019.

· Increase the generated capacity to 195.8 billion kWh by a growth rate of 4.2% over the expected fiscal year 2018/2019.

• Fuel consumption decreased to 185.5 g / kW (2.9%) over the expected rate for the fiscal year 2018/2019 due to several reasons, the most important of which is the maximization of production from the units that operate as a combined cycle and the participation of Siemens projects by about 17% Of the total energy generated.

• Continue the procedures for reviewing the efficiency of existing power plants and maintenance and the necessary processes to ensure their readiness.

· Complete the implementation of the network consolidation plan to be able to unload expected loads.

Continuing coordination with the petroleum sector to provide fuel for stations.

· Continue to implement the plan to promote rationalization and efficiency of energy use, including the measures to raise awareness and increase the culture of energy conservation.

· Implement investments of about 53 billion pounds, of which about 12 billion pounds belong to coal projects in Hamraouin.

· Increase the number of subscribers to 37.9 million subscribers by 4.1% growth over the expected financial year 2018/2019.

· Establishing an Egyptian shareholding company for training services wholly owned by the Egyptian Electricity Holding Company.
