Food Safety: Coordinate with export control to control the import and export of food

Dr. Hussein Mansour, Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority, called for the establishment of a system for controlling pesticides and spreading awareness of good practices for application of pesticides through workshops and training seminars with pesticide companies and the agricultural manufacturing community.

Mansour said in a press statement that industrial companies exporting to the Saudi market should expedite compliance with the requirements of the Food Safety Authority and correct corrective measures in preparation for the visit of the Saudi delegation.

The Chairman of the National Food Safety Authority said that the Authority is currently exerting great efforts in preparing and issuing a number of technical rules. These rules will be binding on the industry and the sectors dealing with food. He pointed out that preparations are under way to transfer control of food import and export to the Authority, On exports and imports.
