Food Safety Authority: 6 months for "water" companies to adjust their situation

The National Authority for Food Safety has committed to producing and bottling drinking water to the Authority, with a period of six months to be reconciled as of July 1, in order to ensure the control of bottled water that is traded on the market and to ensure the arrival of a safe product free of pollutants to the consumer.

The Authority said in a statement that the companies producing and packaged for drinking water, the circulation of bottled water and previously granted the product license from the Nutrition Institute of the Ministry of Health and Population during the period of reconciliation.

He stressed the necessity of the commitment of the producer companies and water companies during the reconciliation period, by changing the license number for the "bottled water product" and replacing the license number of the product circulation for the plant (the factory), issued by the National Authority for Food Safety and the water well license number issued by the Ministry Health and Population.

It confirmed that it would not allow the circulation of bottled water after the grace period from factories not registered with the National Food Safety Authority, and that the underground well (water source) is licensed by the Ministry of Health and Population.

She noted that a joint publication with the Ministry of Health and Population will be carried out with the names of the companies producing, packaged and authorized to trade their products in the markets and will be published on the official website of the Authority.
