Breaking news

The Cairo Criminal Court, headed by Judge Mohamed Said El-Sherbini, will hear witnesses in the retrial of 14 accused of joining an armed Takfiri group in the case known as "Returnees from Libya".

The meeting will be held by the members of the advisors, Wajdi Abdel Moneim, Dr. Ali Amara, Ahmed Mostafa, Mohamed El Gamal and Gamal Ahmed.

In February 2015, the Attorney-General referred the defendants to criminal prosecution after being arrested at Salloum port during their return from Libya on charges of involvement in acts of violence and terrorism outside Egyptian territory and planning to target facilities inside the country.

The prosecution assigned the accused to commit the crimes of joining a group established contrary to the provisions of the law. It calls for disabling the constitution and preventing state institutions from practicing their activities. Terrorism is used as a means to achieve these goals.

It should be noted that the Department of 28 terrorism under the chairmanship of Hassan Farid had previously ruled on the terms of death, life and innocence of the accused in the case, and was accepted to challenge the defendants in last October and decided to try again in front of a different department.
