Facebook raises the minimum wage for cleaners and security

science and technology

Facebook has decided to raise the minimum wage for all its employees in the United States, in response to rising costs of living, after the company has been heavily criticized for the treatment and wages of ordinary employees.

According to the Daily Mail website, the company raised the minimum wage to $ 20 an hour in the San Francisco Bay Area, New York and Washington.

The company said it was clear that $ 15 an hour would not meet the needs of workers employed by other companies, outsourced to work as cooks, cleaners, security guards or drivers.

The company said it would pay at least $ 22 an hour for content reviewers in Bai, New York City and Washington, $ 20 an hour for those living in Seattle and $ 18 an hour for all other parts of the United States.

"After reviewing a number of factors, including third-party guidelines, we are committed to higher standards that better reflect local living costs," Facebook said.

Facebook also raised the minimum wage for contract workers in 2015 to $ 15 an hour in a bid to narrow the widening gap between the technology elite and low-wage workers.

He said he would implement the changes announced on Monday by the middle of next year, while developing similar standards for other countries.
