"Exports and Imports" issued 35 thousand certificates of origin for Egyptian goods within a month

The General Authority for Export and Import Control issued 34,973 certificates of origin last April, according to the protocols of rules of origin applied in the preferential agreements concluded between Egypt and other countries.

These certificates came within the framework of benefiting exporters from the exemptions and customs privileges granted to Egyptian exports. The certificates issued during April varied between the Arab League, the bilateral agreement, COMESA, EUR, FORM-A and MERCOSUR.

The Authority clarified in a statement issued Tuesday that it had verified the origin of goods exported to and from the countries with which preferential agreements had been concluded, for a total of 107 certificates issued in the same period. She confirmed the follow-up to the latest developments in the memorandum of understanding signed between Egypt, Tunisia, Jordan, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Sudan and Bahrain in the field of mutual recognition of conformity certificates for non-food industrial goods.

It is worth mentioning that the Commission followed up and evaluated the export stations, through the inspection of 7 export stations during April, the adoption of 4 stations and the rejection of 3, in accordance with the provisions of Ministerial Resolution No. 62 of 2000 and Ministerial Resolution No. 109 of 2007, And the notifications received from the rest of the world concerning the rejected communications, and to take action on them.
