Discuss the expansion of green cities in four Egyptian regions with the Executive Director of the European Bank

The Egyptian government received Janet Hikman, CEO of the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean region of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, and Khaled Hamza, Director of the Bank's office in Egypt, to discuss the expansion of green cities in accordance with the directives of the Prime Minister. The implementation of green city models requires clear strategic objectives and is consistent with national development policies and procedures, in conjunction with the completion of a project proposal for sustainable cities in Sharm El-Sheikh and implementation in the Red Sea through a focus on biodiversity.

The transformation to green cities should also focus on expansion of electric transport, solid waste management, biodiversity, management of nature reserves and eco-tourism, especially as they are areas with an economic environmental dimension. At the same time, technical work plans for the Egyptian governorates have been completed in the field of Waste management, studies on protected land development and biodiversity, and the importance of integrating the private sector into environmental projects.

The Green Cities Program is aimed at implementing four Egyptian cities as a leading model (Central Cairo, Alexandria, Port Said and Aswan). The Bank will provide technical support, identify priorities, environmental impacts and projects to transform the city into a green city. In London in July.
