Del Bosque: Valverde is realistic and gives prestige to football
Former Viceroy del Bosque, former coach of Real Madrid and Spain, has been supported by Ernesto Valverde, the Barcelona coach, after the Champions League semi-final defeat against Liverpool after a 4-0 defeat at Anfield.
On Sunday, Barcelona beat Getafe 2-0 in their Camp Nou stronghold in the 37th round of La Liga.
"Valverde gives prestige to football, because it is moderate in victory and in defeat," Del Bosque told Spanish daily Mundo Deportivo on Monday.
"In Barcelona they acted correctly with him, and in fact he deserves it."
Valverde led Barcelona, to achieve the title of the Liga this season, and qualify for the King's Cup final, where he will face Valencia 25 this month, to win the local double, and compensate for exclusion from the competition for the Champions League title.
