Agricultural Extension: We are targeting 19.7 thousand feddans of rice in the range of agricultural control in Port Said
Engineer Ali Suleiman, Director of Agricultural Extension in Port Said said during a special statement for "Seventh Day" that the target cultivation of rice crop and authorized to be planted by the Ministry of Agriculture 19 thousand and 706 acres of agricultural control in Port Said for the current season 2019.
Sulaiman added that the crop will be cultivated by associations authorized by the ministry in terms of credit and reclamation, young graduates, and the area of plain plain and east of the canal, stressing the launching of the national campaign to promote the rice crop so-called modern road system through the cultivation of varieties high yield tolerant prolonging periods of "drought" Giza 179, Giza 179, Sokha 107, 108 Sakha, and Egypt 1 under the conditions of rationalization of water consumption in agricultural activities by laser treatment.
He continued: "The cultivation of these varieties by the line to rationalize the consumption of water in agricultural activities as well as it is tolerable to prolong the irrigation period from 8 to 10 days, as the normal rate of water consumption per feddan from 750 m3 to 8000 m 3 and in this way consumed acres from 2000 to 2500 and thus provide about 5000 Cubic meters per feddan and the cultivation of 4 extension fields for rice crop "drought" in the agricultural sector 2019.
