A new batch of 10 new trainees from 7 African countries has been graduated to examine and certify the seeds

The Egyptian International Center for Agriculture handed over the certificates of graduation to 10 trainees from 7 African countries who completed the training course in the field of laboratory testing and certification of seeds.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohamed Soliman, head of the Agricultural Research Center, Dr. Saad Moussa, supervisor of external agricultural relations, and Eng. Adel Younis, Director General of the Egyptian International Center for Agriculture.
This is in accordance with the directives and directives of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi, to intensify the opportunities for cooperation between Egypt and the African countries, considering Africa as a natural and strategic extension, pointing out that there are many opportunities for cooperation between Egypt and various African countries, especially in the agricultural field.
The Egyptian International Center for Agriculture provides its technical expertise through the Egyptian experts and researchers from the Agricultural Research Center to the African brothers, to transfer the technical experiences and the results of the scientific research, so that the trainees will be the best ambassadors of their country and transfer these experiences to them.
Dr. Saad Moussa, supervisor of external agricultural relations, said that this training course was implemented during the period from 11-20 May 2019 for ten days in the framework of activating the cooperation agreement concluded with the Egyptian-African joint farms management, in order to train 10 trainees representing (7) African countries: Democratic Republic of the Congo, Niger, Uganda, Tanzania, Togo, Zambia, Mali.
He explained that the training program included in its content a theoretical and applied aspect. The theoretical aspect was represented in a lecture session aimed at introducing methods of examining and adopting seeds, the role of the central administration for testing and certification of seeds in this field and the nature of laboratory examination and sampling systems. Field visits to Kafr El-Sheikh governorate to identify the mechanisms of acceptance and rejection of seed, in addition to visiting companies to produce seeds to identify the latest technologies used in this area.
