62 million are eligible for catering instead of 70 in the new fiscal year

Data revealed that the number of beneficiaries of the system of subsidized goods ration according to the draft budget of the ministry for the new financial year, 62 million eligible for food instead of 70 million owed, and the number of ration cards 16 million cards instead of 20 million.

Azza Labib, Director of Planning for Supply and Internal Trade, explained that the shortage in the number of beneficiaries came after the process of clearing the cards that took place during the last period because there were a large number of non-beneficiaries receiving support.

This came during a meeting of the Committee of the Plan and Budget in the House of Representatives, to discuss the budget of the sector of supply and internal trade and its affiliates for the fiscal year 2019/2020 and budget programs and performance of the ministry for the same year.
