5.9% increase in the total nursing staff in 2017

The most important statistical indicators are the following:

– The total number of members of the nursing staff actually working 219265 nurses in 2017 compared with 207143 nurses in 2016, an increase of 5.9%.

– The total number of nursing staff who are actually working in the government sector is 191351 nurses in 2017 against 187090 nurses in 2016 with an increase of 2.3%.

– The total number of nursing staff members who are already working in the private sector is 27914 nurses including (hospitals and treatment facilities without internal clinic) in 2017 compared with 20053 nurses in 2016, an increase of 39.2%.

– The total number of members of the Syndicate of nursing profession 247830 members in 2017, compared to 243529 members in 2016, an increase of 1.8%.

– The total number of graduates of nursing colleges reached 5213 graduates in 2017 against 4687 graduates in 2016, an increase of 11.2%.

– The total number of graduates of technical institutes for nursing was 3679 graduates in 2017 compared to 2513 graduates in 2016, an increase of 46.4%.
