"National Population" warns of a reduction of per capita water to 370 meters by 2050

Dr. Amr Hassan, Rapporteur of the National Council for Population, warned of the danger of population increase and what it might do to future generations, stressing the need to reduce annual birth rates.
He said in statements to "the seventh day" that the population of Egypt in 1959 registered 20 million people, while the water quota 55.5 billion cubic meters, ie per capita exceeded the time of 2000 cubic meters.
He continued: Egypt's population in 2019 record 98.5 million, Egypt's annual share of the Nile River 55.5 billion cubic meters, that is the per capita currently less than 600 cubic meters per year.
He pointed out that the per capita water decreased by nearly 1500 cubic meters in 60 years because of the increase in population, pointing out that the United Nations estimates the water poverty line of 1000 cubic meters of water per capita per capita and Egypt is currently less than 600 cubic meters annually]
The water scarcity limit is estimated at 500 cubic meters per capita per year. Egypt's population is expected to reach 150 million in 2050, which means that per capita water will fall to around 370 cubic meters per capita per year, By 2050 if population growth continues at this rate, we will reach per capita water to the point of water scarcity.
In 2100, if population growth continues at this rate, the population of Egypt is expected to reach about 200 million and the per capita water will reach about 200 cubic meters per year.
