Saudi Ministry of Culture appoints winner of the book Mohammed Hassan as head of literature and translation
Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud announced the appointment of Saudi writer Mohammed Hassan Alwan, winner of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, Poker, as the executive director of literature, publishing and translation at the Ministry of Culture.
For his part, said the writer Mohammed Hassan Alwan, that I hope to be practical at his best, and to achieve the aspirations of my colleagues writers, publishers and translators in our dear country.

The novel "Little Death" by Al-Saqi Publishing House won the International Prize for Arabic Fiction, Poker 2017.
Mohammed Hassan Alwan was born in Riyadh in 1979 and lives in Toronto, Canada. He has four novels before "Small Death", "The Roof of Sufficiency" 2002, "Sophia" 2004, "The Collar of Purity" Short list of the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2103, and won the French version of the Arab World Institute in Paris for the best French novel translated from Arabic for the year 2015.

Alwan also published a theoretical book entitled "Leaving: his theories and factors affecting him" 2014. In 2010, he was selected among the best 39 Arab writers under the age of forty, and was included in the anthology of "Beirut 39".
Alwan also participated in the first symposium "Ibda'a Workshop" organized by the International Prize for Arabic Fiction in 2009 and was the instructor of writing at the symposium in 2016.
