Preparing the first Egyptian national plan to promote the role of women in the manufacture, conservation and peace-building

And concerned parties in the State to prepare the first Egyptian national plan on enhancing the role of women in the field of making, preserving and building peace in implementation of Security Council resolution 1325 of 2000, which stipulated the importance of taking further measures to activate the role of women at all levels of decision-making, Peacekeeping and peace-building. This comes in line with the State's tendency to promote the role of Egyptian women in all fields, especially since the 2017 declaration of Egyptian women, the latest of which was the constitutional amendment on the allocation of 25 percent of the seats of parliament to women, and coinciding with the Egyptian presidency of the African Union. 1325.
It is worth noting that this cooperation between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Council for Women is a development of the efforts of Egyptian women in the fields of Arab peace and preservation and peace building, whether through participation in UN peacekeeping operations or through the role of the Cairo Center in building Arab and African capacities in the implementation of women's agenda. Peace and security, including the capacity-building of the AU Commission and the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States.
Egypt is one of the most important countries contributing military and police forces to UN peacekeeping operations. It also plays a responsible role in efforts to resolve African and Arab conflicts. The Cairo Center is one of the centers of excellence adopted by the African Union in the field of training, Peace and security.
