Learn how to appoint the head of state in law after being amended

The Constitutional and Legislative Affairs Committee of the House of Representatives approved at its last meeting a draft law submitted by the government to amend the Law of the State Council No. 47 of 1972. The law defines the manner of appointing the Premier of the Council of State in implementation of the constitutional amendments.
The amendment of the Law of the State Council No. 47 of 1972 replaces the text of the first paragraph of Article 83 with the following text: "The President of the Council of State shall be appointed from among the seven oldest Vice-Presidents of the Council for a period of four years or for the remainder of the term until the retirement age whichever comes first. One for the duration of his work ".
It is expected that this amendment will be discussed during the general session of the House of Representatives after Eid al-Fitr, where the Council will resume its meetings on 9 June.
